PREIN Workshop Light Field Control

PREIN workshop “Light Field Control” has been postponed until such a time that the situation is back to normal and travel bans are lifted.


This workshop is the first in a series of topical events aimed at strengthening the collaboration between the PREIN Flagship collaboration partners. Ther event is intended for those doing research related to the topic in any of the PREIN partner organisations.

Contributions from areas such as listed below are welcome: 

  • Coherence and polarization properties of light
  • Tightly focused fields
  • Interaction of light with nanostructures and metamaterials
  • Nanostructured light sources
  • Epsilon-near-zero materials

Venue

University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu Campus, Yliopistokatu 7, Lecture Hall F101, Futura Building.

Lunch: ground floor restaurant, Futura Building.  
Poster session with refreshments: ground floor, Metria Building.

Program
The program will include a morning session dedicated to talks given primarily by post-docs and an afternoon poster session where the most recent research results can be presented and discussed.

Travel and accommodation

All participants should organise the travel by themselves according to their own organisation’s travel instructions. The participants' own organisation covers the travel and accommodation costs.  To agree on the participation, please ask the local contact person.

Joensuu can be easily reached by air via Helsinki and there are train and coach connections from Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu.

Getting to the campus
If you come to Joensuu by train, it takes about 20 minutes to walk from the station to the campus. Timetables for local busses you can check from JoJo.  Busses from the airport to city centre of Joensuu stop also by the campus area.

Social Programme

The attendees are welcome to an evening tour of Joensuu nigh life, guided by Profs. Ari T. Friberg and Tommi Hakala. This will be arranged in the evening  preceding the Workshop.

Where and when: Meet the guiding Professors at Scandic hotel lobby at 19:00. From there we take a walk to Cosmic at Yläsatamakatu 5, in 2nd floor.
