Light Field Control
Many advances in photonics arise from novel fundamental concepts for generating light fields and manipulating their properties. The research focus area of Light field control provides novel approaches for controlling key properties of optical fields, including polarization, coherence, spectrum, and localization. Light field control has immediate applications for the materials and structures and integrated solutions as well as quantum states manipulations for quantum technologies. Key new research includes polarization management in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and artificial intelligence for optimum control of light-matter interactions, component design, and application for new photonics technology.
