Zhipei Sun to Receive Highly Competed ERC Advanced Grant

sun-zhipei-120419-JR.jpgProfessor Zhipei Sun from the Department of Electronics and Nanotechnology at Aalto University was one of the recipients of the ERC Advanced Grants awarded by the European Research Council.

The ERC Advanced Grants are targeted at experienced and highly merited researchers  to pursue ground-breaking, high-risk research projects. Applicants for the ERC Advanced Grants are expected to be active researchers who have a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years.

Research project received 2.44 million euro funding for five years

Professor Sun’s research project Creating novel photonic devices by stacking together atomically-thin materials (ATOP) received  a 2.44 million euro funding for five years. The project aims at creating totally novel building blocks for the use of the next generation of photonics and optoelectronics.
