Quantum Technologies

Several PREIN activities already focused on topics working towards the development of quantum technologies. Following the latest developments at the partner sites supported by Finnish and EU funding agencies including the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence on Quantum technologies and the EU quantum flagship, a new research focus area was introduced. Quantum technologies aim at benefiting from the developed components including integrated single-photon sources and detector arrays to produce integrated modulation schemes allowing to perform advanced quantum state manipulations. These in turn will serve as building blocks of quantum photonic networks and boost integrated quantum photonics systems for quantum cryptography, computation, and sensing.
