Welcome to ENS Faculty Regina Gumenyuk, Associate Professor, Photonics!

Dr. Regina Gumenyuk received her PhD from Tampere University of Technology in 2014, where her research focused on nonlinear pulse dynamics in fiber-based cavities. Shortly thereafter, she was awarded a prestigious postdoctoral research grant from the Academy of Finland, marking the beginning of her independent research career.

In 2019, Dr. Gumenyuk founded the Advanced Coherent Sources research group following the success of a major Horizon 2020 project, which she coordinated. Since then, she has established a strong international research profile, securing funding through six European projects, including Horizon Europe, EIC Pathfinder, and the MSCA Doctoral Networks programme, four of which she has been leading as a coordinator.

In January 2026, Dr. Gumenyuk was appointed as a tenure-track Associate Professor. Her research focuses on the development of next-generation hybrid high-power laser systems for emerging applications. More recently, her work has expanded toward power scaling of complex light states, aiming to enable new regimes in light–matter interactions and drive fundamental advances in photonics.

Congratulations on your advancement to a tenure-track professor-position Regina! We are thrilled to have you here!
