Optics and Photonics Days (OPD) is an annual central event in the area of Optics and Photonics in Finland. OPD2024 will be held at Scandic Marina Congress Center, 28 – 30 May 2024, Helsinki, Finland.
This year, the PREIN event highlights recent research results, our Proof of Concept projects and the updated Research Roadmap as well as the newly funded doctoral pilot program.
This is also a great opportunity for industry representatives to discover the links of the research roadmap to the larger national photonics roadmap and find out what the doctoral pilot can offer to companies.

OPD2024 offers an unique opportunity to learn from interesting presentations from Academy and Industry program running in parallel, network with companies, students and researchers in the field of photonics and optics, but also to explore products and services at OPD Exhibition that is held during the conference.
The Flagship for Photonics Research and Innovation (PREIN) is one of the flagships funded by the Research Council of Finland for 2019-2026. PREIN brings together the main actors of photonics research and innovation in Finland. In its annual event, PREIN presents the highlights of the flagship activities and invites researchers, stakeholders and anyone interested to discuss photonics research in Finland. Photonics Finland and PREIN are working in a close collaboration, PREIN is also OPD2024 partner.
Also there is a lot of other activities such as Networking Dinner, Job Fair, Student meeting, PREIN Annual Event, Photonics Finland annual meeting, Panel discussions, and also Poster- and Pitch sessions.
