I-DEEP doctoral pilot Annual Event 2026

The annual I-DEEP event for all doctoral researchers in the pilot is organised in Aalto University premises, Espoo on May 6, 2026 at 10-18:30

Time

May 6, 2026 at 09:00 – 18:00. The official programme strats at 10:00

10:00 – 10:15 Opening words Doctoral Pilot Director Prof. Goëry Genty 

10:15 – 10:45 Practical session for I-DEEP researchers on events, research mobilities and industry secondments

10:45 – 12:00 I-DEEP Research: Oral presentations from one doctoral researcher from each partner university (7 presentations, 10 minutes each)

14:20 – 15:10 Soft skills training: Popularising your research Communication Specialist Anna Aatinen, Tampere University

15:10 – 15:30 Afternoon Coffee  

15:30 – 16:30 I-DEEP Poster session (in the 2nd floor lobby)

  • Award for the Best Poster 

16:30 – 18:00 Closing session of I-DEEP Industry mentoring and summary of mentoring feedback

Participation

There is no participation fee for the event, and the costs of the event are covered by I-DEEP and the PREIN Flagship. Registration from all participants is required. Please note that the registration is binding.

Travel arrangements

Please note that everyone needs to make their own travel arrangements (e.g. buy train tickets) and reserve possible accommodation if needed. The travel costs of participants are covered by their home university according to the travel policies. There should be funds reserved for I-DEEP researchers’ travel in each partner.

Abstracts

All I-DEEP researchers are expected to submit an abstract for their research presentation. Please use the abstract template for your submission, download here:

Oral presentations

Based on the abstracts, one presentation per I-DEEP partner university (total of 7 oral presentations) will be selected by the I-DEEP Steering Committee to be presented (10 min) in the event. The researchers giving the oral presentations will be informed in advance and they should prepare a max. 10-minute oral presentation.

Poster session

All other I-DEEP researchers are expected to present a poster in the poster session. The Steering Committee will select the best poster award recipient in the I-DEEP Annual Event.

  • Industry mentors are invited to join the whole event, but especially the afternoon Poster session and the I-DEEP mentoring closing session 16:30-18:00
